WHO ARE THEY

AXIS is an Indonesian cellular brand licensing service owned by XL Axiata, a subsidiary of the Axiata Group.

Founded in 2001, AXIS aims to make quality mobile communications affordable for young Indonesian users. Antikode has been trusted as a business partner for AXIS digital products over the years. We participate in AXIS Corporate Web, My AXISNet, and AXIS POP Up Station Web in addition to AXISNet App.

CHALLENGE

AXIS has a unique target market: straightforward young people, so they want to fully grasp their target market to be interested in using the AXISNet App. 

The AXISNet app currently offers not only phone credits and internet data packages, but also game tokens and other forms of entertainment from VIU, JOOX, and Udemy.

With these options and a focus on the AXIS target market, we need to make the layout app less overwhelming and frictionless. This prevents users from experiencing cognitive overload when choosing an AXIS package.

RESEARCH

As AXIS’s digital product growing partner, we fully get their young target market that has different needs and priorities. To make an app that suits this unique user, we began the app development with research. to understand better the trend among youngsters and to discover what to improve in the AXISNet app itself.

DESIGN

We then conduct a UT session to test the current design to evaluate the overall layout and features. Based on the results, we create a friendlier tier naming for the membership to be more inclusive and drive a bond together between AXISNet and its user.

We change the name into stages of relationships such as “Kenalan” “Temenan” “Soulmate” etc as it is more relevant to the users.

Not only the UI/UX, we also provide assets like loading icons, discount banners, pop-ups, etc. We crafted the design by crafting a mood board that matches the brief and AXIS brand color.

The challenge begins when we need to create a colorful design that is not overwhelming and tacky. We explore different references and iterate together with the AXISNet team. To add more fun, we also incorporate memes, emoji and animation for the assets.
