Designing the first-of-its-kind loyalty experience for Disney+ Hotstar.

Disney+ Hotstar Indonesia was launched on September 5, 2020, through a strategic partnership with Telkomsel.
As one of the leading movie industries, Disney+ Hotstar already gained a lot of new subscribers hence they wanted to create a loyalty program that encourages users to consume other Disney+ Hotstar films and increase the watch hours by rewarding the desired actions with various loyalty benefits.
They wanted to make it remarkable since it’s Disney’s first ever loyalty program.
Disney is famous for its imaginative movies thus we want the user to feel the same way when they play the games. We decided to make it into a floating island that gives users the excitement of going to explore new places for new experiences just like they watch Disney hotstar movies.
We created 6 islands that were inspired from selected genres of disney’s movies: Hope, Wonder, Courage, Change, Love and Friendship.
To achieve those objectives, we began crafting the game narratives that allow users to explore more movies and TV series at Disney + Hotstar through playful missions. The story behind the games also included top characters from Disney+ hotstar films to elevate the user experience.
The island was created with 3D animation to make it unique and real. Since it will launch for Disney+ Hotstar Indonesia, the games will take reference from names and sights of the Indonesian archipelago.
The mission difficulty level increases every month accompanied by benefits that can be exchanged with various interesting rewards to add some spice.
We took careful development on this project in order to make it successful. Our development team is working hard to make the process smooth and free from error. We use Next JS for frontend development and Laravel 8 for backend development.
